A patent is essential to protect our ideas, or so we've been led to believe for many generations.
In many cases this is not strictly true and below you will find an alternative method to gaining a patent for your ideas if one is needed with virtually no cost to you.
Do I Really Need A Patent
So…
You've had an idea for a new contraption or found an easier way to do things and you want to make some money from it?
You’ve asked around on what you should do next and the usual answer is the old-faithful ‘get it patented’.
So what does this mean? What is a patent for? Why do I need a patent?
In simple terms YOU DON’T NEED A VERY EXPENSIVE PATENT. Not since the internet was introduced.
Let me explain…
Having your product or new idea patented is simply joining a protection racket provided by each government in the world, and you, normally the inventor, have had to pay through the nose for this ‘legal protection’ and even then, even if your funds are low, you have to take the wrong-doers to court to prove your ownership of the original idea, which can often be unsuccessful, despite the fact you are the true originator, and the best of it is the government do very little to help after taking your money.
Having a patent on a product is a simple way for governments to take funds from you. A further tax on ideas which does not promote advancement of living standards in any way.
Patenting started off around two or three centuries ago, long before mankind’s mobility was considered. Everything was done locally within the village or settlement.
There would be a few local traders selling their wares and maybe a constable, let’s call him Bobby, to keep the peace.
Now Joe Blogs was a cobbler and he’d looked at what he was offering the public and came up with some fancy idea to put bells on the ladies shoes, so they emitted a pleasant tinkling sound.
This idea was soon copied by another cobbler in the next village and Joe took the huff. He went and complained to Bobby about someone else stealing his idea, but Bobby could do nothing as it wasn’t against the law at the time.
Bobby mentioned it to his superiors and before long it was being talked about in the parliament of the day.
AND BINGO…
The parliament jumped on this as it was another tax to be forced on the public. They set up a law to cover patents saying the law covered the inventor, allowing him only to manufacture or produce the patented product or to do with it as he wished.
This was all done for a price and nothing was said about having to take the transgressor to court to reclaim the rites of his creation.
From this, you will see, the government moved money easily into their own pockets as well as to their chums, the legal eagles (perhaps that should say legal VULTURES) and has done so ever since.
This was well before the world became a much smaller place where communication has become that much easier owing to the internet and even so the offspring of those money-grabbing vultures are spreading like the plague.
I have started this website to help others pursue their creative (and commercial) dreams by making the process of invention, from idea to physical production in the least expensive and clear and accessible way possible.
I hope it will become the ultimate virtually free resource for turning your innovative ideas into products and further encouraging inventors with accessible help.
You never know! Maybe you may have just thought up the next big thing.
All it needs is for you to display the basis of your ideas on InventanIdea.com to show the world you have applied for the equivalent of a patent as the date it is logged in will give you any benefit in the courts. It is the same principal as having your letter stashed away for safekeeping should the need arise, plus at the same time advertising your product/suggestion/idea to the worlds manufacturers.
Fundamentally, this website will be a secure shop window for all new inventions and ideas to be offered around the world in a safe zone, where factory owners can search for new ideas and new inventions before offering to purchase directly from the inventor or come to some other agreement through InventanIdea.com to promote and expand their business.
In fact, you will be letting them decide if it is worth their time pursuing your ideas regarding patenting your invention. If it is, then you will be entitled to a percentage of the patent rites, which can be worth a fortune, along with a percentage of the profits.
So, what exactly is a patent for?
Having a patent covers your ability to take anyone to court to gain redemption of ownership of a design or product when others have stolen and published (produced) your idea, much the same as showing your ideas on this site will.
Each country in the world has different interpretations of patent law, so that means if you want to produce and sell your product in specific countries, you will need a patent lawyer to draft a patent for each individual country you wish to sell your product in.
BUT THERE’S A BIG CATCH
This can be extremely costly before you have even been granted a patent with the usual system.
So you may now be seeing why this site was produced.
People producing new inventions and new ideas need a place to offer their ideas to businesses, and if the businesses feel the idea is a very possible, profitable venture, then they can foot the bill for the patent, using an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) which in turn is the equivalent of a Patent in law and costs the inventor nothing, just simply showing your idea on here as part of our contract.
And here’s where the shoe goes on the other foot - you advertise your idea or product for virtually free and the businesses then find your product and use their finances - rather than yours.
In the old way the inventors would need to be searching high and low around the locality, even the country or the world, for a company to take on the project and still you would not be sure they could produce or promote the product fully to your satisfaction.
The biggest problem there is actually contacting the right people directly.
Doing it my way, you skip all that process as companies will have a better place to search than other existing sites who don’t deliver for the buyer or the seller.
It was, and still is, MIND NUMBING, searching previous patent applications to see if you are on a winner or not.
Sure… You can sell your idea to businesses once the Patent Pending stage has been reached if you’re doing it yourself, which is normally something only the wealthy can do. Businesses are looking for this as it shows an inventor has great belief in their product on the marketplaces around the world.
In fact, Invent an Idea could even do the bartering for you at a small percentage rate, or a small share in the patent rites or profit if that would be preferable, should you feel the need.
Your details will not be passed on to any of these companies, or anywhere else for that matter, without your permission. Just a code is added to your advertisement, where the companies can ask for better details if they want them. That’s when we notify you via email about their interest and will await further instructions from yourself.
Obviously, if the businesses are purchasing just the idea, then your returns would be lower as you’d be selling them the rights to patent and produce the product, but that is better explained later.
When they apply for the patent, part of the agreement with you would involve the rights of the patent, regarding who officially owns the patent, fully or partially, and whether the business could let other businesses become involved if your product becomes a sensation.
Anything’s possible if you are willing to take the chance and there’s virtually no expense for yourself as an ideas producer.
Patent Pending
What does Patent Pending mean?
This is the stage where you have initially applied for a patent but the patents office need to check out it is a new idea or application that has not been applied for before, or that one doesn’t exist already.
As there are hundreds of thousands, possibly millions already granted and with a great number applied for annually, then this can take a great deal of time, usually around twelve months or longer for complicated or specialist inventions, before your patent is granted or more likely refused. The easier ones to understand will possibly be decided on within three months. Once you have applied for a patent, then your money is gone!
This deciding process would obviously be expensive as most governmental processes usually are, so that’s another reason to take the easier route being offered here...
